Each of our X-FORMER implementations are unique. The AD+ uses Canadian Hammond Transformers for heft and complexity. They tighten up the low end making for more powerful bass on earbuds and small speakers. When it hits CORE SATURATION it heightens the articulation, while softening the shearing at peaks. It adds a bit of sheen while gently smoothing out the harsh artifacts.

X-FORMER II

Allows Gain Fracturing without tripping the music streaming police alarms. This is not a limiter and will not change the sound. It only turns off the red light.

Reveals the active session sample rate, so you can set your hardware to match and avoid any embarrassing and costly mismatches.

Auto Sample Rate

GAIN FRACTURING is the act of intentionally clipping your converter. We’ve added the tactile familiarity of a limiter, driving the input, or dropping the threshold, while keeping your impact and punch intact. Measure how many consecutive clips you've created, while the reduction meter simultaneously reveals "how far" beyond 0dBFS you are pushing- in reality how many decibels you are limiting.

GAIN FRACTURING

Emulates the original hardware impeccably, down to the rise and fall time. Take advantage of standard, zoom and 2 magnification views, Gain and Metering. Switch between momentary and peak hold, monitor the digital overshoot, gain fracturing count, there's even a gain reduction meter.

CUSTOM METERING

Cycle through the three calibration levels for compatibility with other devices, to set meter sensitivity or to create inventive gain staging.

CALIBRATION

EMPHASIS is a complex pairing of our BAX shelving EQ and COMPRESSOR designed to blend comforting characteristics like generating 2nd order, warm, harmonic distortion. The High Shelf begins at 300Hz and boosts 1dB by 12:00 and 2dB when fully open. This provides the overall sense of a bit of compressed warmth and edge. Rich on the mixbus, but also individual instrumentation.

EMPHASIS

Bypassing wordclock will introduce micro jitter and with it, intricate imperfections. This is simply one more tool for exploration and originality.

WORDCLOCK

Provides two switchable stereo input paths to switch effortlessly between your favorite tracking, mixing or mastering chains.
